What people said

Too many people invading the space that dont fully understand the culture. Everything is for clicks, views, or some “Hot” Topic. Nobody digests or dissects the music anymore. Certain people are allow to talk about the culture …. And they have no business talking about the culture.. everything has tuened into a “number” game. We live in terrible times.

It’s interesting because I’m a person who is a creative. Sometimes I do album reviews but I also create music. I feel like I have the double consciousness of being able to see where both sides are coming from. It’s wild because I wanted to be a music journalist and a producer at the same time. My thing is, I have great respect for actual music journalists. I feel like discourse is important to have, but there should also be clear distinctions between who is delivering that message. The algorithm is incredibly flooded. It’s all a matter of where anyone can fit in to get any attention. I make music. I yap about music. If people like it, they like it.

'Some art asks you to sit with it'. This, 100% this. Shortening attention spans have killed the act of giving an album time to marinate in your brain. The instant gratification culture demands you move on from something instantly.
